About Us

The Oil Kings Hockey Club

The Oil Kings Hockey Club is more than a youth team—it’s a developmental pathway from adolescence to adulthood. Serving players ages 10–17 of all genders across the Pacific Northwest, we use hockey as a powerful platform to instill the values, skills, and discipline young athletes need to become confident, respectful, and contributing members of their communities.

We believe hockey is a tool for growth far beyond the rink. Our program emphasizes character, academics, and personal accountability. Whether players go on to higher-level athletics, college, or the workforce, we want them equipped with skills that last a lifetime—resilience, teamwork, communication, and respect.

Every athlete who wears our jersey represents more than themselves—they represent their teammates, coaches, parents, community, and the Oil Kings program. We expect our players to carry themselves like professionals, on and off the ice, and to uphold our standards of conduct, respect, and responsibility.

We teach players how to work together, support one another, and accept roles that benefit the group. Every athlete learns to value their teammates as much as themselves, because success on the ice comes from collective effort—not individual glory.

We emphasize humility in victory, dignity in defeat, and fairness at every level of competition. The way our players behave when the puck isn’t in play is just as important as how they perform when it is.

Players learn to be accountable, reliable, and consistent in their actions. Leadership at Oil Kings means stepping up when things are hard, encouraging your team, and modeling the behavior you want to see in others—on and off the ice.

Through intentional coaching, structured development, and a culture rooted in accountability, the Oil Kings Hockey Club is committed to shaping young people who compete with passion, respect others, and take pride in their growth. Hockey is the sport—but character is the mission.
